Running… “Run Forest Run!”,

Aaaarrrggghh… It can get frustrating with the leading professionals AND blogs giving you conflicting reports or opinions ABOUT RUNNING.

Some professionals say running is good for you.

Other professionals say running is bad for you.

Look!!! It’s really not that difficult.

We at ChristianWorkoutMusic.net think that running is fun, healthy, beneficial, awesome, and GOD ordained.

Like one mainstream 80’s song said “We were born to Run!” LOL

That being said, to sustain a “runners life”… you need four things to be in routine, habit, and practice as early as possible (however most of us don’t wake up to our health needs til we’re older or there’s a health scare).

The Four Things are as follows:
• Proper shoes
• A Proper diet
• Proper breathing+technique
• Proper stretching

Running Exercise can feel amazing!

Proper shoes will help you avoid Shin Splints, knee aches, and lower back pain.

When you eat properly (Vegan, Vegetarian, or Moderate Meat consumption) you’re getting your joints the proper fats and proteins. When you eat right you aid your bones by NOT having so much stress to hold you up which in turn keeps your joints from having such a heavy pounding impact with your stride.

Which leads to technique… you see technique is mental.

You literally have to focus on what your doing so that it will eventually become a part of you, habit; first nature. When you breath properly (You should be exhaling every time your left knee comes up [bends] when you’re running at a steady pace) that helps you get the most oxygen to your muscles whether you’re breathing in your nose and our your mouth or not. Getting good doses of oxygen will help your muscles burn slower and not tire out as fast which of course leads to better endurance which leads to running longer distances.

Here are some humbly opinionated tips on the “correct way to jog to lose weight”:

  1. Run on the ball of your feet and your toes. Do not run on your heels. Some people are heel walkers thus heel runners.
  2. Run in proper shoes that curb the negative effects of running on your heels, it’s best practice NOT to pound your heel into the pavement. Think about it… if you’re running a mile or a 5K or longer and every stride you’re pounding your left and right heel… OUCH!!!
  3. Breathe in your nose and out of your mouth at the same time. This may seem difficult since most of us have been taught to breathe in our nose and out our mouth or vice versa.  Well, if you do both at the same time then you give your muscles more oxygen because you have 3 holes bringing in oxygen rather than 2 or 1.
  4. For long distance runners… when running cross country, marathons, or jogging you should exhale every time your left leg bends upward because your running at a speed that’s easier to do this.  For sprinters…you should exhale every other time your left leg bends upward because you are running so fast it’s challenging to do it every time.  Practice the proper breathing because this will help dramatically with getting tired less thus building your endurance.

And lastly, STRETCH DAILY. Even if you’re not running, get your muscles used to being loose, limber, and long.

Dead Lift (Deadlifts)

Hit those Dead Lifts,

Strength, Power, Endurance are just some of the benefits of doing Dead Lifts (Deadlifts).

It’s a great exercise to reinforce your upper back, lower back, quadriceps, booty (gluteus), shoulders, knee tendons, and forearm muscles all in one exercise.

Now of course the main muscles that get the bulk of work are the back, quads, and knees but, it’s nice that the love is being spread around.

The Deadlift is all about prepping your body to be able to do static movement. There are and will be moments in our lives where we have to bust a move without warning…without a head start.

A Static movement is one that relies on reflex without the assistance of a jump start or a running start.

You just have to lift the weight with little to no momentum.

Some people say Dead Lifts (Deadlifts) SUCK and are bad for your back… that’s like saying picking up a pencil you dropped or a ‘can good’ that rolled on the floor is bad for your back.

Deadlifts are NOT bad for your back. Deadlifts actually help strengthen your lower back muscles, when done properly. Deadlifts keep your body prepped for everyday “pickups.”

Deadlifts are great! A significant number of Women love how they work, tone, and plump their glutes.

Doing Deadlifts WRONG is what’s bad for your back. Just like lifting a bag of groceries wrong is bad for your back

It’s very important to keep the proper form because what’s the point of doing any exercise if you’re not going to do it right.

You can seriously hurt yourself doing any exercise with ill or improper form.

Let’s be clear.

Although, the knees and gluteus get some love during the Deadlift exercise… Dead Lifts are NOT Squats.

Men and Women… amateur to pro both enjoy the effects and benefits of Dead Lifts.

Don’t let the Arnold Schwarzenegger looking guy or gal (☺) intimidate you because they’re lifting 500lbs.

You can do Dead Lifts using 8lb Dumbbells or Kettle Bells as long as your form is correct and you’re feeling the burn.

That’s how you get healthy, balanced, favorable results.

Twenty (20) Minute Body Toning Dumbbell Workout with Your Heaviest Weight

6 exercises in total for 3 sets and you will be upping the amount of reps per set

Set 1 – 10 reps
Set 2 – 15 reps
Set 3 – 20 reps

of the following…

  1. Goblet Squats (hold one dumbbell with both hands on it whiled doing a full squat 45 degree elbows touch knees)
  2. Cuban Press (Control swing dumbbells down to your side wrist facing floor, swing dumbbells up to shoulders, shoulder press up, swing down and repeat for the required reps)
  3. Alternate Lunges (one dumbbell in each hand)
  4. Double Arm Tricep Extensions (bend over flat back [no arched backed] weights in hand, elbos bent toward the back of the room at a 90 degree angle then you control extend your arm till your elbow is straight while keeping weight in the air, then slowly return to 90 degree and repeat for required reps)
  5. Stiff Leg Dumbbell Deadlifts (Legs straight, bend at the waist with a straight/flat back, weights in both hands slowly bending down with weights in front of your shins going as far as you can go without arching your back, then slowly rise up and repeat for required reps)
  6. ISO Hold (one arm at 90 degrees and full bicep curl other arm for the required reps then do the other arm)
  7. BONUS:  Throw some slow Shoulder Rolls in there for the same amount of reps (roll your shoulders from front to back while you keep body aligned up and down minimizing any rocking)

Bench Press

Aaaahhhh… the Bench Press,

The Bench Press is an age old exercise that has stood the test of time as the go exercise to get a ripped chest with a touch of biceps and triceps.

It’s recommended that you always use a spotter.

A spotter is a partner that closely watches (and assist you if needed) you raise the weight all the way back up to the resting post, if you aren’t physically able to do so after your reps.

Spotters do not help you do your reps they just help carry the weight back to the top if you’re fatigued after you’ve already done any amount of reps.

When doing The Bench Press exercise you first lift the weight off of the resting post then hold the weights straight up with your arms extended for 1 second.

Then you moderately lower the weight all the way to your chest and let the bar touch your chest. Once the bar touches your chest; you quickly raise the weight back to the top with arms fully extended. Do this for how ever many repetitions you can handle.

Remember when you start to strain or shake while trying to get the weight back up to the resting post, that’s what your spotter is for.

Tricep Dips,

Universally, the Triceps Dip (or Dips for Short) are classic.

They are the other side of the “ARM” coin.

The biceps have a tendency to look sooo good that often times we forget about the back of our arm.

Heave Ho – Biceps, Triceps, and Quads,

Famous female Actresses (now called Actors as well) like Angela Basset have biceps that are affectionately referred to as “guns.” Christian Worship leader Jeremy Camp has been known to modestly join the “gun show.”

Guns in this instance have nothing to do with 2nd Amendment referring to the right to bare arms. LOL no pun intended. But, sincerely… it doesn’t.

“Guns” in this instance refer to well sculpted-lean Biceps and Triceps.

Both female and males alike can have respectively attractive toned arms without having to look like Mr. Universe or Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Some women don’t want to look masculine they just want to tone up and gain lean music along with getting stronger.

Some men want their arms to be as BIG as a Basketball or Bigger…LOL

Get Bigger Biceps. Get Lean Muscle.

Faith is belief in invisible production of visible results  (Hebrews 11:1 AMP). You don’t see what going on under skin. Even through science and microscopes the origin of your muscles isn’t 100% seen.  Yet, when you pump that iron visible results are produced.  So, be consistent and know that your faithfulness will yield results that not only you can feel and see but, others will be able to. And this is why we must stay humble and guard our hearts from the deceitfulness of vanity.

Whatever your goal is (in terms of lean and large muscles), you want to get there by doing proper technique, not lifting TOO heavy, and eating what complements your goals and health.  Let us take Bicep Curls (for example), it is ideal for you to keep your elbows in front of your ribs to put pressure on your biceps to do the lifting and not the Triceps, this is how you will experience noticeable gains and growth

There are two keys to seeing results as it pertains to size of your Biceps and Triceps. 1.) The amount of time you can hold your lift while it is under tension. Which means, you are moving at a steady pace while your muscles feeling the burn. 2.) Moderately increasing the weight you are lifting to make time under tension more difficult while still fully completing the rep, routine, and/or rotation.

15 Minute Full Body Workout Using Your Heaviest Dumbells (Heavy enough to complete the reps)
Perform each exercise below for 20 reps (Perform all 9 exercises for 2 total rounds):

  1. 20 Jumping Jacks
  2. 20 Goblet Squats
  3. 20 Romanian Deadlifts

The way muscle growth works is that the weight along with the time tension are actually “healthily” tearing your muscles; what cause your muscles to grow is that after you’ve done the “healthy” tearing of the muscles they grow more muscle in efforts to repair themselves. It is sort of like when you cut yourself or get a scab your skin regenerates to repair the cut or scab. Look at how awesome our GOD is.

As of late many people are asking and searching the following questions…

It’s really good to get in the habit of getting your heart pumping so that it gets used to doing it’s job at optimum performance.

Your body is like a car and your heart is the engine to that car. Your Blood is like oil. You want to make sure your engine is circulating that oil through your car efficiently. You also want to make sure that the oil is free from toxins, crud, and slug.

We say ultimately because there are arguments that red wine helps you live longer. But, science also proves that there are other things more natural and potent than red wine that will do the same or even a better job of red wine.

The moral of the story is that you have to WORK your heart to keep it used to WORKING at its best and you have to give it good fluids to WORK with while it’s WORKING for you…GET IT!?!

As Christians in the “entertainment” and “health” industry…We at ChristianWorkoutMusic dot net   have seen a polarizing growth of interest in Yoga, flexibility, and overall stretching.

Stretching keeps the muscle groups flexible, sturdy, and healthful, and we want that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without STRETCHING, the muscle tissues shorten and grow to be tight. Then, when you need the muscular tissues for activity, they are weak and not able to stretch all the way. That puts you at a vulnerable position for joint pain, strains, and muscle harm.

Intentional-focused-stretching helps with range of motion, lung capacity, aches, pain reduction, sleep apnea, headaches, and much more. Additionally, healthy muscle groups help someone with stability issues to avoid falls. We used to trust that stretching became necessary to warm up the muscle groups and prepare them for activities. however, mounting study has proven that stretching the muscle groups earlier than they’re warmed up can certainly harm them. So, make sure you’ve done some speed walking or light jogging before you stretch because the heat and warmth makes the tissue along with the ligaments more flexible and pliable. Full range of motion and release of tension are the end goals.

Walk daily… as people are going “Fitbit” crazy these days trying to hit that 10,000 step goal. There’s nothing wrong with that at all.

One of Newton’s laws of motion says, … “every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force.”

Newton emphasizes, … “An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.”

So, at the very least get up and walk.

Try walking intentionally not just to the bathroom, laundry room, or the kitchen. But, actually have a focused agenda of walking for your health.

Take a mindful Walk around your block.

If you feel like your neighborhood aint the safest or you don’t like the scenery get in your car and drive to your local park, highschool track, or middle school track and walk around the track for 4 laps (4 laps around a high school track typically equals to about a mile distance).

Maybe you live on a cul-de-sac, if so just go outside and purposefully walk daily around your cul-de-sac. Don’t make excuses rather intentionally execute to your benefit.
